Current Events :: Part 1

A few years ago we studied current events. I found I need to open my eyes to current events just as much as the kids do. I get buried with various events in "My Snarled Little Corner of the World" and forget others. I want to get back into checking out current events, so I thought I would revisit and update this post I did in 2005.

I asked my always-on-top-of-the-news husband why he felt it was important to keep up with current events. His answer: "God is all knowing. We should seek to follow his example by know what's going on around us." Ouch, but indeed, God does set that example.

I spent an hour Googling for kids' news sites. I thought I would share the links with you. Disclaimer: I haven't dug deeply into any of these links to know if they are liberal, conservative, Christian, heathen or otherwise. Caveat Emptor.

I found a couple lesson plans, suggestions & idea sites as well.

Various Kid Specific News Sites

I have these sites sorted loosely by the dates I noticed on their articles. Some didn't have any and others, without pulling out my calculator & calendar, I couldn't tell. So I stuck them in the random update category. As we use them daily, I'm sure I'll get a better handle on updates.
